Dusk in France, Along the Rhone-Day 21 of #jan30in30

20"x16" oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 1" deep

On my last trip through France we cruised down the Rhone, stopping in wonderful cities, towns and villages. We traveled mostly at night, so that the days could be spent seeing the sights at our stops along the way.  What a wonderful way to tour. It gave me a great overview of places that I want to return and spend more time in....a dig in as deep as grape vine roots....to learn more about this beautiful country.

Séduit par Géraniums

12"x12" oil on archival panel
For more information, or to purchase, click here.

Is it the color? the artful arrangements of floral bliss? the ancient limestone buildings...where window placement seems random but is actually purposeful? the lyrical language? All of these make it so easy to fall in love with a place!
The southwest region of France, in the Lot valley is just such a place. I'm hoping you'll join me next year, 2015. Lisa's Gryphon Art & Travel will be putting out next year's schedule soon!

Avoir un bon week-end!

Peu Vieux Vert Renault

6"x6" x .75" oil on cradled birch panel

While perusing a weekend market morning in a small village in south west France, I came upon this little old green Renault. It had seen a lot of miles, but still had a sense of adventure about it.  Made it quite easy to imagine a road trip through the countryside, windows open, hair flying, singing at the top of our lungs! (Hey, do you know the words to any French songs?).  Allons-y! Let's go have an adventure!!
