Spring In Your Step
6"x6" oil on archival panel
"Spring is a heart full of hope and a shoe full of rain."
-author unknown
I got my first shoe-full of rain today, leaving the gym. It was monsoon-like weather, except colder, but to me it did feel like Spring is trying its hardest to show up for me. Lots of melt-off happening, fast-running water every where! Maybe just the thought of it has put a spring in my step? Sometimes it doesn't take much....a small cheery bouquet, a bit of hope, the promise of turning that corner at some point.

You sure can tell that you have a spring in your step! These paintings are so full of life...great color and light!
Very nice! love seeing all of your juicy paint.
Aww- thanks Norma! I went out cross-country skiing with my friend this morning. Still lots of snow left in the middle of the state- the trail is alongside a river- flowing fast & furious with ice chunks! We were looking for signs of spring- a chipmunk scampered up a hill, a mouse peeked out of its hiding place on the bankside next to us. It's coming! woohoo!!! gotta spring in my step now! :-D
Thanks Barbara! Oils are such a luscious medium - and a delight to use to their full advantage!
beautiful...the painting not the wet shoe :D
I forgot you're a knife painter and a good one at that!
Thanks Mary. Yes, I switched over to painting with knives about 3? years ago now. Sometimes I'll bring out the brushes, but very rarely! (I reallt love clean-up with knives- much quicker & easier!)
