Winter Sunrise - Day 3 of 30 in 30

6"x8" oil on linen mounted on archival panel

Yesterday morning, as soon as I opened the blinds, I knew that there was my painting.  There's finally construction going on across the street and they are almost finished with this house. The early morning winter sun seems to rise barely above the horizon, and hits the front of this house square on. The sky was still a deep blue with swirling clouds, but that sun illuminated the tree tops like golden life!

Take The Long Way Home

5"x7" oil on gessoed masonite artboard

"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."
- Herm Albright

Finally home from my travels, there were still colorful leaves on the trees. They have hastened their fall and are almost gone. I wanted to get a couple fall scenes painted before the rest of the leaves were down.

Get off the interstate....pass by those wonderful Cape style homes painted that "New England" red...somewhere a long a curvy winding road...."Take The Long Way Home" comes to mind on long road trips. Yep, I've had a few of those lately! This painting is 5"x7" and is painted in oils on gessoed masonite artboard. I'm offering my 'while it is wet' price of $125 plus $10 for shipping/insurance. Memorial Day

10"x8" oil on Belgian linen mounted on archival board, plein air

"Each moment is the fruit of forty thousand years."
- Thomas Wolfe

In honor and memory of our fellow military members; for those who did not return, for those far away from home today, and for those still at home with loved ones serving far away....our thoughts are with you today and always.

My hubby has been wanting to put up a flag on our house, as well as bunting for the 'flag day holidays'. So that's where we were yesterday, up in Rhode Island, seeking out a flag store! Of course, on the way home, we stopped by "Farmer's Daughter" nursery to bring home a few things. But that of course is another story for another day. The grill has been dragged out, cleaned up, cranked up, tried out, & is ready for today, too!
