Grey Day, Boats At Inis Mor (Ireland)
5"x7" oil on gessoed masonite archival artboard
"To be happy, drop the words, "if only" and substitute instead the words "next time".
- Smiley Blanton, M.D.
A grey day on Inis Mor, little boats for a big Galway bay. On my travels over in Ireland I was always attracted to the hull shapes of these colorful boats.

lovely! i really like the reflections on the water!
Great painting Roxanne. It reminds me of the beautiful grays you used in the painting you had at Scott London's Gallery.
Thanks Artist, thanks Norma! I had it in my head that I'd get back to painting an overcast sort of day if I saw one that really interested me! Usually I go for the brilliant sunny days, but the reflections on the water are what really grabbed me in this little scene.
Beautiful, Roxanne - I really appreciate the way that you simplified this scene!
Thanks Linny- I'm so glad you found my blog!
