Varying Stages Of Undress; Pears
8"x10" oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas
I have always admired paintings of those 'fancy pears' that come wrapped in elegant paper- like the ones in those fruit gifts that come at Christmas! As luck would have it our mother in law sent us a gorgeous box of pears (& other goodies). I ate one already, but realized I have these beautiful subjects to paint....and quickly as they'll need to be eaten! Pears have such a beautiful sensual form...and these three in varying stages of un-wrap are well- very fascinating to me.

Wow Roxanne, I love the softness of this piece, the gorgeous reflected light and your beautiful knife work! Great job! Hope someone sends me some of those pears too! :-)
THanks Norma! It was very rainy yesterday when I painted this - and the light was very soft! I am indeed enjoying these pears!!
I really love the abstract qualities in this Roxanne.
Thanks Sheila! I've been really trying to think "shapes" instead of "things" as I paint! Fun to see what comes out of it!
I like your texture with the knife. Never seen a pear strip tease before.
LOL - thanks Carol- it happened right there on the kitchen counter-top- shocking! ;-O
