Light on the Landing - sold

8"x8" gallery wrap canvas (1 1/2" deep)

This painting IS all about the light, glancing across the landing at the top of the stairs, hitting the columns & flower pots & shrubs...leaving the rest in late afternoon shadow. The warm light is a place I'd like to be right now, there's a snow/sleet storm blasting us all day today.

This painting is sold to Paul Guiffre of Barre, VT. Thank you Paul!

YEAH GO MAC! Took me eight years and I LOVE IT. Diane Whitehead asked if it was THAT much different...well yes, It knows what I want before I do!
Ilove your work. I love your ease in your stroke, your color and most of all envious of your composition. After I clean house today I am going to try to paint small...EEEK.

Hope we can meet one day. I would love to have a huge paint out one weekend and get to meet everyone. Can you imagine the POWER in that area with all the artists???

Oh Laurie,
That would be fabulous fun to plan a paintout! I think a roadtrip is in order. I just saw an amazing exhibit of Renoir's landscapes at the National Gallery in London - really had me encouraged & psyched, absolutely empowering - it's coming to Philly some time (later this year?)- he & Monet painted together over the course of several decades & what great influence they had on each other! Serendipitous things happen when artists paint together!
